Crimebeat Application
Crimebeat Application Form
Up to £500 for an idea
Devon Crimebeat has one aim
- To support young people’s involvement in local projects which help to tackle some of the problems they and their communities face, therefore creating a safer environment for all.
Crimebeat wants to see young people take the initiative in their projects and we therefore welcome applicants from the lead young person themselves. We appreciate that some applications may need to be completed by the group facilitator.
Make sure you give as much information as you can in your application to explain why you need the money you are asking for.
How to submit your application:
Applications can be made by letter, formal report or project booklet. Please choose whichever is most appropriate for your group and its project. Applications in audio and video format for those with special needs are most welcome.
Where does the money come from?
Crimebeat holds no large capital fund but once your application has been considered a suitable source of funding is identified. It might be necessary for you to complete that funding organisation’s own application forms so make sure you apply in plenty of time for your grant.
If your project is going to cost more than the £500 maximum that Crimebeat can award you must have secured that extra funding before making an application to Crimebeat.
Any Crimebeat funding must be used within six months of you receiving it.
Having decided how you are going to apply please give us the following information -
The aim of your project
Name of lead young person
Adult facilitator
Name of group
Venue of project
Accurate estimates of how you intend to spend the money (please supply at least two written estimates for services or goods being bought with the grant)
Details of who any cheque should be made payable to
We will not fund applications founded mainly on leisure or recreational activities (ie skateboard parks and BMX tracks). Your application must be linked to a specific crime prevention or community safety issue.
Please answer the following
- Does your project actively help tackle a problem for people in your community?
- Does it involve young people and how can you show that they are valued members of their community?
- Does the project have appropriate adult support?
- Can you demonstrate that your project will significantly improve safety in your community or reduce crime?
- What potential is there in this project to include all young people in the community?
- When do you expect your project to start?
- How long do you see your project lasting?
- Ensure you make a copy of your application for your records.
